However, if you need a ride, we offer a convenient private round-trip transport service for just Rp 800,000 (per vehicle, covering pickup and drop-off from all Bali areas). This is the classic Mount Agung sunrise trekking experience for the lone explorer. Your journey begins with a late-night arrival at the temple base, followed by a demanding 6 to 7-hour ascent through steep volcanic scree and dense jungle. Reaching the 3,142-meter summit at dawn rewards you with a 360-degree panorama of Bali, the Lombok Strait, and neighboring Mount Rinjani. Instead of rushing up in the dark, this Gunung Agung camping tour allows you to experience sunset, stars, and sunrise in one immersive journey. Start your hike in the early afternoon, trekking 3–4 hours to our campsite at 2,300 meters. Watch the sunset over the ocean, enjoy a warm meal, and sleep under a blanket of stars. At 3:00 AM, you will make the final 2-hour push to the 3,142m summit to catch the golden sunrise, then descend back to camp for breakfast before hiking out.

The Sunrise Trek (Packages 1 & 2) is a single, intense overnight push starting late at night (approx. 11 PM) to reach the 3,142m summit by dawn. The Camping Package splits the climb over two days, allowing you to hike in the afternoon, camp at 2,300m, enjoy sunset and stars, and summit the next morning at a more relaxed pace.
We use either the Besakih Temple route or the Pasar Agung Temple route to ascend to the highest peak (3,142m). The route depends on current weather conditions, trail closures, and your physical fitness, which your guide will assess upon arrival.
It is very challenging. The ascent takes 6 to 7 hours of continuous uphill climbing over steep, loose volcanic scree and rocky terrain. It is recommended for experienced hikers or very fit beginners. The camping package is slightly easier because the climb is split, reducing the daily hiking hours.
For the 2-day, 1-night camping adventure, we provide all necessary camping gear, including a sturdy tent, warm sleeping bags, and comfortable sleeping mats. We also provide headlamps and basic safety equipment. You only need to bring your personal clothing, water bottle, and camera.
Yes, all trekking permits and official entrance fees to the temple/registration posts are included in the total price for all three packages. There are no hidden administration fees.
